Who was the customer?
A community charity who took over the running of Wales' oldest cinema from the local authority.
What were the requirements?
To advertise what was showing at the cinema, they were using a WIX website which required almost daily maintenance to keep the pages up to date with the latest times, which was taking up a lot of time and effort.
to reduce workload, they required a dynamic website which could have a calendar of upcoming events which would be pre-populated easily, along with management of the content, prices, and details of special offers and features.
Also, the website needed to be re-designed using a new 'Art Deco' theme which was produced by a local graphic designer
What was our solution?
By implementing a database driven website, we produced some easy maintenance forms to add the various movies and events, along with show times.
Movie information such as description, trailers, posters and galleries were accessed using an open movie database API which pulled in all the data in seconds.
A simple show times entry screen was developed to easily create single or multiple showings on various days of the week.
Further to requirements, we added full content management to the website, along with a preview feature for the admininstrators to view how the website would look at any day in the future.
